ARIZONA FISHING REPORT

The Week of October 30th






LAKE PLEASANT

Lake Pleasant is rated GOOD for Striper, Largemouth, White Bass. We Are also catching a few Crappie, Bluegill, and Catfish that happen be on the schools of bait. The Trick is staying on the bait schools as the move around the lake. Morning surface water temperatures are in the mid to high 60’s. Refer to the Fall bait selections above.



BARTLETT LAKE

Bartlett Lake is rated GOOD For Largemouth, The Surface Water Temperature Is In the 60’s. Fall fishing baits and patterns are producing good numbers of Largemouth as the water level in the lake continues to rise. Here to the trick is locating the bait and staying on the schools as the move around the lake. Refer to the Fall bait selections above.



ROOSEVELT LAKE

Roosevelt Lake is rated GOOD for Bass and has been producing nice fish. The Fall patterns are in effect and the surface water temperatures are hovering around the low 60’s. Here again the trick is finding and staying on the bait schools as the move around the lake. Remember the depth of the schools and water clarity are key to selecting the right bait, color, size, and presentation. Refer to the Fall bait selections above.



APACHE LAKE

Apache Lake is rated Fair to Good for Bass. The Fall patterns are in effect and the surface water temperatures are hovering around the 60 degree mark. Here to the trick is locating and staying on the bait schools. Remember the depth of the schools and water clarity are key to selecting the right bait, color, size, and presentation. Refer to the Fall bait selections above.



SAGUARO LAKE

Saguaro Lake rated FAIR to GOOD for Bass in the 31/2 to 6 lb range. The Fall patterns are in effect and the surface water temperatures are hovering around the mid 60’s. Here to the trick is locating and staying on the bait schools as we approach December and January they normally stock trout in Saguaro. This adds another dimension, Trout imitation swimsuits to your arsenal. Remember the depth of the schools and water clarity are key to selecting the right bait, color, size, and presentation.



CANYON LAKE

Canyon Lake is rated FAIR for Bass. This Lake provides the angler with the opportunity to a BIG Bass, but not numbers. The Fall patterns are in effect and the surface water temperatures are hovering around the mid 60’s. Here again, the trick is locating the bait schools. Like Saguaro, as we approach December and January they normally stock trout in Canyon. As in Saguaro, it adds another dimension, Trout imitation swimsuits to your arsenal. When on bait schools remember the depth of the schools and water clarity are key to selecting the right bait, color, size, and presentation that will increase your odds of landing that once in a lifetime Fish.



ALAMO LAKE

Alamo Lake is rated FAIR to GOOD for numbers of fish, but not necessarily size. The Fall patterns are in effect and the surface water temperatures are hovering around the mid 60’s. Here again, the trick is locating the bait schools. The best Fall baits are mentioned above and the best choice will depend on the water clarity, depth of the bait, and the time of the day your fishing. Again these factors determine color, size, and choice of baits as mentioned at the top of Fishing Report.


ARIZONA FISHING REPORT

The Week of October 6th

Daytime high temperatures are dropping into the 80 to 90 degree range. The overnight lows are dipping down into the low 60’s and the days are getting shorter. As a result, the surface water temperatures are dropping and and as they do, we will see the Fall fishing patterns begin to occur on Arizona’s rivers, lakes, and streams begin to occur based on water levels and elevation.




LAKE PLEASANT

Lake Pleasant is rated GOOD. Surface water temperature is cooling down and the water level has stabilized. The Spoon bite has proven effective in catching lots of Striper, White Bass, and 1lb Bluegills on recent trips.



BARTLETT LAKE

Bartlett Lake is rated FAIR to GOOD with best chance at catching fish early morning hours, However the afternoon bite has been improving. Texas rigs, jigs, and drop shots have been working best. This combination of baits proved effective in hooking over thirty nice Bass on our last trip.



ROOSEVELT LAKE

Roosevelt Lake is rated FAIR to GOOD for Bass. There have been a number of Tournaments on the lake recently and the catch rate has dropped as a result of the pressure from the tournament fishermen. Best baits include: Texas rig and medium crank baits and drop shots have been producing fish. In spite of the conditions, we were still able to land some really nice Largemouth.



APACHE LAKE

Apache Lake is rated FAIR to GOOD. Best baits include: crank baits, drop shot, and jigs



SAGUARO LAKE

Saguaro Lake rated GOOD for Bass 2 to 6 lbs. Texas rigging big worms, drop shots, and deep diving cranks have proven to be the two best choices. On the last three trips on Saguaro our Big Fish were 4 lbs 2 ounces, 5 lbs 4ounces, and 6lbs 2 ounces.



CANYON LAKE

Canyon Lake is rated FAIR. With a chance at a Big Fish. Best chance big swimsuits baits.



ALAMO LAKE

Alamo Lake is rated FAIR to GOOD. The fishing is continuing to improve, Best baits include: buzz baits, whopper stoppers, and jigs depending on the time of day. The fishing continues to improve.

LAKE PLEASANT

Lake Pleasant is rated POOR for most species due to high surface water temperatures ( Low to Mid 80’s) and rapidly falling water levels.



BARTLETT LAKE

Bartlett Lake is rated FAIR to GOOD with best chance at catching fish early morning hours. Crank baits and Texas rigs working the best.



ROOSEVELT LAKE

Roosevelt Lake is rated GOOD for Bass On Texas rig and medium crank baits and drop shots have been producing nice fish.



APACHE LAKE

Apache Lake is rated Fair to Good. Best baits include:crank baits, drop shot, and jigs.



SAGUARO LAKE

Saguaro Lake rated GOOD for Bass 3 to 6 lbs. Texas rigging big worms and deep diving cranks have proven to be the two best choices.



CANYON LAKE

Canyon Lake is rated FAIR. Best baits deep cranks, jigs, and glide baits.



ALAMO LAKE

Alamo Lake is rated FAIR to GOOD. Best baits include: buzz baits, whopper stoppers, and jigs depending on the time of day.
